Decommissioning of Mamut software.

Mamut software

For those who have not received a notification yet, the Mamut software will be decommissioned as of the 31st of December 2021. Business’s who are affected will have a year to source a new solution, test its suitability and migrate all their information across to the new platform. Mamut will still be fully functional for another 10 years but will have no further updates or support from 31st of December 2021.

Alternatives to an ERP solution.

Mamut was a very good desktop product that had most of the functionality of an advanced ERP solution who were in direct competition with multi nationals such as (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) but tailored for the SME market. Not only was it competitively priced (1/10th of SAP) it was easy to implement and user friendly, with a vast amount of functionality prebuilt into the system. Mamut was one of the first solutions to combine CRM, advanced product capabilities with logistics and project accounting in one application, available to smaller enterprises. No doubt some users who just need accounting functionality will move across to products that have comparable features, but those companies who need more advanced product and stock functions, will be harder to replicate.

An upgrade path for Mamut users

In response several Mamut partners have got together to work on a transition plan for upgrading to Dear Systems in conjunction with Xero or QuickBooks cloud solution with data migration tools, training and reskinning the front end so that the workflow looks similar to what people have been used to. This will be a more advanced solution than Mamut that works on both a Hybrid or Cloud solution for people who are more comfortable with having their data kept on premises. The initial fees will be comparable with what you are paying now, and we will be able to give functional comparison advice in the New year. For companies with additional API tools bolted onto Mamut we will also create new links to the new software, this will involve some analysis of your current API which will allow us to quote for the time necessary to achieve any integration and protect your investment.

The Mamut partner network will be available for any clients who need help with data migration no matter which product they decide to go with. If you have concerns, please contact us on the email above and one of the partners will get back to you.

For those who wish to stay with Mamut

For some business’s they have business process’s that are so intertwined with mamuts software function that it would be difficult to move. For those we have introduced a hosting platform which they can access for as little as £65 a month. The program will keep functioning for another 15 years, it won’t be upgraded, but in turn it will keep functioning. So you can get 15 years worth of an ERP system for literally no charge. The only danger would come from data corruption of the program, but as we back up the data and the platform at regular intervals there is no chance of that happening. The Mamut partner network would still provide advice on how to use the program at a nominal fee. For those interested please contact us to discuss.
