How to set-up co manufacturing in Cin7 Core

A Guide to Co-Manufacturing in Cin7 Core

Cin7 Core has a full-fledged manufacturing module built into the backend of the inventory system. Within that there are a variety of different scenarios that can be developed depending on varying business models. One of those is the ability to co-manufacture. This may be the case where the some, or all of the process can be outsourced. In those circumstances the third-party supplier may purchase components from you, you provide them to them or they purchase on your behalf. If they provide a sub assembly issue then how does that then dovetail back into the bill of materials once it becomes available. In this example we will go through a co-manufacturing arrangement where the 3rd party that part deliver their components in instalements.
First thing to do is to create a warehouse that is specific for the supplier. Go to Settings>Reference Books and filter by Stock the select Location and Bins.

Go back and then select main “Shop floor” manufacturing warehouse where you want the products you stock to be transferred to the co manufacturer.  You can determine which  components will be transferred to the suppliers co-manufacturers warehouse either by tags, category, brand or by individual SKU’s.. This can either be done by category, brand, family, tag or list the individual components.

Then set the conditions for demand planning that should take place for the transfer of components. This is the same set up as per a workflow with logical if/or conditions.
