Shop Floor and Locations.
Location is used to organize stock and/ or production components ensuring Inventory is picked or revived from the right locations and maintain a complete view of stock levels across all your organization’s locations.
The shop floor is the area in a manufacturing facility where assembly or production is carried out, either by an automated system or by the worker or a combination of both. The shop floor may include equipment, inventory, and storage areas.
In other terms, the shop floor is where finished goods are produced
Main Menu>Settings>Reference Book> stock: Locations and Bins and select the location tab.
Locations…
1. Select the Location tab in Locations and Bins.
2. Click + to add a new location.
3. In the General tab fill in the new location details.
Name – Name of the location.
Address – Where an organization is situated.
Description – Written account of the Location.
4. To indicate the location’s characteristics check one or more Type boxes.
Default: is a preselect location that will automatically be your purchase/sales transaction when no alternative is specified by the user. Only one location will be selected as a default location automatically.
Allow reordering stock level to enable or disable low stick Reorder for these locations.
Shop floor: the location for production activates. This is where the component or raw material from the Bin within the Warehouse is transported, for production.
Co-manufacturing: This is where part or all the manufacturing process is done of sight provided by a third party. This allows for a certain level of oversight and control of operation such as consumption of components.
Deprecated; the location is no longer being used and will remove it as a location option during transactions.
Planning method – optional components of supply and demand their percentage to be considered during execution of the MRP process.
Demand Location – Default location to which the end item of a production order is supplied.
Building a wooden chair begins to form the warehouse where the raw materials are stored in different Bins (Bin: chair seat). They are then collected and transported to the factory where the chair is assembled using the raw material. The final product will be stored in the factory storage areas, it is collected and sent to the shop floor where it awaits collection.
Storage bins also are added to future organize your stock. A bin location is a designated inventory storage location, located within a warehouse making warehouses more accessible, inventory items are easy to locate with lesser effort and time consumed.
It is also the smallest available unit of saving in the warehouse; the position in the warehouse where the goods can be stored. A warehouse might be organized according to shelf, bin, and row with the bin number reflecting all three attributes. In other terms, bins are where production components/ raw material are stored before use in Manufacturing activities.
Add bins to a location.
Setting>Reference Books>Stocks>Location & Bins and select the locations tab.
1.Bin cannot be added to Co-manufacturing locations or Fixed assets. Select a Location to add the bin to from the list.
2. Select the bin tab.
3. Click the + button to add a new bin.
4. Save changes
A staging box is to mark a new or existing bin as a staging bin allowing you to perform two-stage transfers.
Import and export a bin list.
To save time import bin lists in CSV format to save time and conveniently add many bins.
The main menu>Setting>Reference Book>Stick>Location & bins and select the location tab.
1. Bin cannot be added to Co-manufacturing locations or Fixed assets. Select a Location to add the bin to from the list.
2. click Import, on the Bins tab.
3. Download the bins template CSV file and enter data in plain text.
4. Click import, drag, and drop the CVS file to upload the file.
5. Save changes to finish. If a bin has not yet been used in a transaction, you can delete it by clicking that delete icon.
By clicking export you will be able to export an existing bin list in CSV format, make changes and re-import it but the Used Bin in Dear transition, can no longer be completely deleted. Check the Deprecated box next to the delete bin, which will render it inactive and remove it as an option in WMS.
Logistics path
The logistics path reflects the physical movement of the component and finished goods. A product cannot be in two places simultaneously and cannot be transferred between locations at the click of the mouse.
The product storage, sales order, and production orders all specify a location. A logistic path connects these locations in the system. The physical moment of stocks requires action to be triggered and time – logistics path is set up to reflect that for accurate production and production.

Set up a logistics path…
1. Select the Logistic path tab on the screen.
2. Click the + button to create a new Bin.
3. Click on each on the field which should display a drop-down selection filed containing the list of all the locations.
Components – This field is a stock storage location where the components are stored and will be picked from. Main warehouse.
Shop floor – This field is a production location. Production facility.
Demand – This field is the sales location that will generate production demand. Production facility (Shop floor).
4. Continue adding logistics path until finished.
5. Save your changes.
Work Centre.
The work centre is the area where a production operation takes place within the business. All components for a production operation should be delivered to the work enter for the production operation to being consumptions.
The Work centre is designed to show where production operation will take place and where the final product/ product will be store within the business.
The co-manufacture is a third-party factory that manufactures or package a product, Mode can be changed to the buy/sell of components and Transfer components to co-manufacturer, consumption bin is where the product or raw material go in for manufacturing or packaging and output bin is where the finished product can be put away after production. The state is if the work centre is operational or not.
Create a new work centre
Main Menu>Production> settings> work centres
1. Click the + button to add a new Work centre.
2. Fill in the field (Code, Name, Deliver Components to, State).
Code – a word, letter, figure, or symbol used to represent others.
Suspend Reasons.
Main Menu>Production> settings>Suspend Reasons.
Work centres stop or stop operating or are suspended at any point, for example, a machine gets jammed once a week on average suspending work for 4 hours, slowing production, or completely stopping production. Suspend reasons, are the reason production would slow down or stop these could from external or internal sources.
1. Create a new suspends Reason. Click the + button.
2. Fill in the field
